World Ploughing 2016

The Society of Ploughmen are delighted to stage World Ploughing 2016 at Crockey Hill, near York on 8 to 11 September 2016.

World Ploughing 2016 will incorporate both the 66th British National Ploughing Championships (on 8th and 9th September) and the 63rd World Ploughing Contest (on 10th and 11th September) and is being organised by the Society by kind permission of Hobson Farming Ltd who are loaning around 500 acres of land to hold the event.

Supporting World Ploughing 2016 will be the first World Vintage Ploughing Championships and also trade stands, shopping stalls, craft exhibits, vintage displays and demonstrations celebrating a 'Century of Agriculture' and Britain’s agricultural heritage, 'A Celebration of Steam' by the Steam Plough Club, horse ploughing and a host of other events to attract farmers, their families and people with a love of the countryside.
