Naburn Village Archive
The village archive principally consists of a large bundle of documents and a CD of images - the collected work of the (now disbanded) Naburn History Group. Additional images and documents have been added over the years from local residents, and those from around the world with connections to the village.
To increase accessibility to the archive, it has now been digitised and made available on this website where possible (some exceedingly large files are excluded from the digital archive, but are stored in the physical archive). The catalogue and these pages are updated from time to time as time allows and new items are received. If you have any items you’d like to add to the archive please contact us in the first instance.
We hope you enjoy learning more about our village’s history and the people who came before us…
The Catalogue
The documents and images from the Naburn Local History Group’s archive, and other historic village items, have been digitised and catalogued by volunteers onto a Google shared sheet.
The catalogue is updated on an ad hoc basis and can be seen and searched here.
For instructions on how to search the catalogue please click here.
The Physical Archive
All the documents listed in the catalogue, and print outs of many of the images, are stored in the Reading Room on Front Street. Please contact the Parish Clerk to arrange access to the archive.
THE IMAGE ARCHIVES
Images are split across two website pages due to hosting limits:
Page 1 - Image files NHG0062 - NHG00423
Page 2 - Image files NHG00424 onwards
